As healthcare’s business landscape is shifting, physicians are expressing new attitudes toward their work and personal lives. To capture these shifts, UBM Medica US and Physicians Practice surveyed nearly 1,000 U.S. physicians for the annual Great American Physician Survey.
Executive Summary:
-
Only 29 percent of physicians are working as partners in their own independent practices – the lowest number in the history of this survey.
-
Almost 84 percent say they enjoy being a physician and fewer than one in four would make a different career choice if they had to do it over.
-
Forty-two percent believe lack of insurance coverage is the biggest barrier to good healthcare for patients.
